We design, develop, and manufacture ground support equipment (GSE) for defense, heavy industry, aviation, and space-related companies. Through licensing contracts with overseas technology manufacturers, we also manufacture products and perform modification, assembly, and adjustment work to Japanese specifications. We also design, develop, and manufacture hydraulic, electrical, and other power-driven ground support equipment.

Towbar(Towing bar)

A towbar is a piece of equipment used in connection with a towing vehicle when an aircraft moves through an airport without power.
Since 1965, we have manufactured towbars for a variety of aircraft at the request of the Ministry of Defense and civilian airlines, and they have become our main products. We have produced more than 1,000 towbars with various functions to meet the requirements of airlines, and we hold the top share of the domestic market.

Dolly

Dolly

A dolly is a cart/transportation equipment with wheels and no hand-pushing parts, and we manufacture dollies exclusively for aircraft engines, landing gear*, and missiles. Since fitting to the object is important in manufacturing, we interview each airline company to determine the best method for their use.
*Landing gear consists of aircraft tires and cushioning devices to support the aircraft on the ground by reducing impact and other factors when landing.

Maintenance platform

We can manufacture maintenance workbenches to meet customers' requirements based on our proven expertise in drawing data and work methods.
We can also respond to improvements and modifications from the first unit.

A work platform for inspection and maintenance of the tail area of an aircraft. The largest work platform we have manufactured is 17.57 m high, 17.335 m long, and 23.28 m wide to accommodate a vertical tail fin of approximately 16 m in height.
When in use, the work platform is split in two from the center to sandwich the tail section of the aircraft, but the gap between the work platform and the aircraft is too large as it is, making it dangerous and unsafe. The slide floor is installed and pulled out to close the gap between the work platform and the fuselage, facilitating access to the fuselage and inspection port.

This is a work platform for workers to climb onto the aircraft and perform maintenance. Because of the size of the aircraft, the platform is about 7 m high, but it is lightweight so that it can be moved by human power, and it is manufactured so that it is stable even when manned. It is very difficult to design a work platform that is strong enough to maintain its weight, stability, and safety.

Aircraft maintenance requires work platforms of various sizes and functions that allow pinpoint access to each maintenance point.
We have manufactured many aircraft maintenance work platforms, including work platforms with a scissors structure using hydraulic pumps and cylinders for vertical ascent and descent, and elevating work platforms equipped with wheels and jacks for working at high elevations on uneven terrain.

We manufacture movable work platforms for trailers used in steel mills. They are used for tightening cargo after loading steel rolls. The customer asked us to manufacture a safety product to prevent workers from stepping out of the gap between the trailer and the work platform, as there have been cases of workers stepping out of the gap between the trailer and the work platform.
By operating the work platform handle and clutch, the work platform can be swiveled forward and backward, enabling the work platform to lie perfectly in line with the stopping position and angle of the trailer. In addition, it has a three-part structure for transportation. These technologies have been cultivated through the manufacture of aviation-related equipment and are applied in a variety of fields.

As space-related business has been attracting attention in recent years, we have been receiving an increasing number of related requests and inquiries.
We have evolved our know-how acquired through the manufacture of aircraft maintenance equipment to manufacture equipment and jigs for space-related businesses.

Satellite Rollover System" is a representative product of our space-related business.
Since the parts of a satellite's main body are very precisely made, the overturning device was designed to prevent workers from losing their balance and touching their hands during assembly work at high altitudes, and to improve work efficiency, so that work can be performed from the ground.
The satellite is assembled on a disk-shaped table called an adapter in the center of the device. When assembling and inspecting inaccessible parts, the satellite is rolled over (tilted 90 degrees from the vertical).
In addition to satellite overturning equipment, we have experience in manufacturing inverting equipment that can tilt the satellite 180 degrees, equipment that rotates the satellite in an overturned state, and equipment that uses an adapter over 4 meters long to assemble a large satellite. We also provide maintenance services for other companies' satellite equipment.

Lunar module dolly and related equipment production

We manufactured a dolly for assembling, storing, and moving the lunar module, as well as a jig used to attach the fuel tank to the lunar module. Since the lunar module is small, the dolly is small in size.
We are receiving more and more requests from customers in the space-related business, and we feel that our technical capabilities are expanding into new areas.

Our technology is gaining recognition from overseas aircraft manufacturers, and our licensing approvals with various manufacturers have brought us global recognition of our technology.
In addition, we are also making efforts to conduct sales activities overseas by hiring personnel with language skills.

HYDRO SYSTEMS KG

HYDRO SYSTEMS KG (Germany) is a manufacturer of aircraft ground support equipment.
In 2013, when HYDRO was reviewing its sales development in the Japanese market, MHI was recognized as a company with both repair and maintenance capabilities and entered into a distributor sales agreement to provide sales, repair, and after-sales service. The Narita Plant is equipped with a hydraulic test stand for load testing of large hydraulic jacks. It can accommodate up to "4,22m in width and 7,8m in height," and is capable of performing load tests of 200 tons.

Pratt & Whitney engine stand for PW1100G-JM

Pratt & Whitney (USA) is an aircraft engine manufacturer; in 2018, we signed a contract with the company and obtained a license to manufacture the engine stand for PW1100G-JM (model PWA211815). We became the only supplier of all GSE for PW1100G in the Asian region, and we are now licensed to produce and sell engine stands for PW1100G-JM.

Farwest Aircraft supplier agreement to manufacture special tools for Boeing

In 2019, the company signed a supplier agreement with Farwest Aircraft (USA), a manufacturer of aircraft maintenance equipment, which holds a license to manufacture and distribute special tools for Boeing. Special tools are used for aircraft maintenance and range from small wrenches and other hand tools to large engine stands.
By becoming an authorized supplier, we are now able to accept manufacturing contracts for Boeing tools for Asian countries, including Japan.
